ANTI LIGATURE TRAINING

Course Outline

Currently this is a Company assessed course delivered by anti-ligature trained instructors.

This course is designed for those who need the training, skills and confidence to undertake ligature rescue / ligerature first responder duties.

Although some shared courses will be run at our offices in Hersham, Surrey this course is to be ideally presented in your work place.  Your workplace will provide the necessary personal setting for ligerature risk assessment work.

The standard course length we deliver is a half day course however it can be mutually agreed to extend the course with additional modules or courses.  (BLS, Emergency First Aid at Work etc).

Course content includes:-

  • understand self-harm
  • responsibilities as a responder to a person suffering a strangulation/ligature injury
  • look out for different pattern of injuries to be expected from a (un)suspended ligature
  • to show the first aid procedures for first responders arriving on scene
  • to explain how to preserve a scene for forensic examination/evidence gathering
  • know how to safely remove a (un)suspended ligature using ligature equipment
  • understand the importance of scene preservation for the purposes of forensic examination
  • be aware of how YOUR organisation reduces the risk of ligature incidents via their policies, procedures and best practice

Learners will need to pass all practical assessments 100% and 75% on the end of day assessment.

On successful completion the organisation (or student if individual) will receive a paper and digitial copy of the students certificate which will last 3 years from date of passing.  It is strongly recommended to attend/arrange an annual refresher and this can be done with Fun First Aid.

Course cost

The half day course for no more than 12 students costs £499.00
