In the heart of Surrey, an innovative approach to first aid training is reshaping the way individuals and organisations prepare for emergencies. Fundamentally First Aid (FFA), affectionately known as 'Fun First Aid' by those who have experienced our courses, stands at the forefront of this transformation.
With roots deeply embedded in the expertise of seasoned first aid instructors and assessors, alongside the insight of a Director of Security & Compliance from a Surrey-based company, FFA has redefined the learning experience in emergency preparedness. This partnership cultivated a novel approach to first aid training, aiming to make learning not only engaging and enjoyable but also significantly more effective.
Through using the initiative of integrating fun and interactive elements into training, it helped emerge the recognition that traditional methods often failed to fully engage learners or ensure the retention of vital life-saving skills. By creating a more stimulating learning environment, FFA has succeeded in attracting participants' interest and improved their ability to retain, remember and apply these crucial techniques and potentially life-saving skills in emergencies, ultimately making it more beneficial.
The collaboration between experienced educators and a compliance expert has resulted in a curriculum that is both innovative and aligned with regulatory standards. This approach has redefined first aid training, proving that it can be both an enjoyable and enriching experience that better prepares individuals to respond confidently and effectively in critical situations. FFA's pioneering strategy highlights the importance of innovative educational methodologies in enhancing skill retention and empowering people to save lives.

Delivered by experienced and qualified instructors, our courses are operated by 1 instructor up to a maximum of 12 learners, with 1 learner as minimum, thus ensuring a comprehensive and compliant learning experience under the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
FFA's Reach and Flexible Training Options
Located in Hersham, Surrey, we pride ourselves on accessibility and flexibility. At the weekends, we offer a range of open courses from our offices that are available to all, and during the week and at weekends our closed courses are provided at the customers premises.
Learners have access to training on-site at their workplaces, homes, schools, and other suitable venues. To be suitable, premises just need adequate space for practical training for the students and trainer, noise and interruption level must be minimum and access to toilets and welfare facilities will be needed. This approach ensures that essential first aid skills are more readily available to the community, fostering a safer environment for everyone.
The Introduction of On Site Evacuation Chair Training
The latest enhancement to
FFA's on-site portfolio is the Emergency Evacuation Chair L2 Course. The demand for hands-on, practical training in Surrey has led to its introduction as an on-site offering also. This course is crucial for the safe evacuation of individuals who are unable to use stairs during emergencies, addressing a critical need in emergency response training.
The range of occupations that can use this course is as broad as it is diverse. As a legal requirement in many buildings, evacuation chairs can be found in most multi-storey buildings particularly those with public access or where high numbers of staff work, providing the potential for this knowledge to be used by many in multiple environments.
The Evacuation Chair Training course equips individuals with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to confidently use evacuation chairs. It covers the operation of some of the leading types of evacuation chairs, safety considerations, and legal responsibilities. The hands-on practice facilitated by skilled instructors ensures participants are prepared to respond effectively in emergency situations.
By incorporating this essential training into its on-site portfolio, FFA is enhancing safety and preparedness in Surrey and beyond. This initiative reflects FFA's dedication to advancing safety through education, ensuring that organisations and individuals are better equipped to ensure the safety of all occupants in emergency situations and meeting legal requirements.
Fundamentally First Aid's commitment to fun, engaging, and effective first aid training continues to make a significant impact on safety and emergency preparedness. The introduction of the Evacuation Chair Training course is a testament to FFA's innovative approach and dedication to saving lives through education.
